  • Apr 14, 2004 - I can't believe I haven't updated the web site since November last year and January this year. To many thing have gotten in the way of maintaining the website but I have attempted to get as many in as I can this week while I am on vacation. I updated the rest of the games that we have played so far in 2004. I also got in the Con report from Joe Shaffer for Barracks Battles. I will be stepping down, soon, as web master for the MEGA site because of an impending transfer to Omaha, NE this summer. As events occur I will try to keep the site updated to the schedule.

  • Nov. 1, 2003 - Added to the Game Log the "Hornet's Nest" game that we finally played. I have also updated a couple other pages. I am getting close to finishing the new start page for the web site. I hope to have it done in the next month or so.

  • Oct 20, 2003 - Not much going on, everyone's been pretty busy doing lots of things except gaming. Hopefully it'll pick up soon. Planning for Command Con next month Nov. 14, 15 and 16 at Jefferson Barracks - Grant's Shelter. More on that later. Went and visited Shiloh Battlefield October 9 to 12, 2003. I'd like to go back again and while there visit Corinth and Iuka Battlefields before they disappear under a subdivision or a mall.

  • Sep. 27, 2003 - It's been almost two months since I last updated the site. I haven't had much time during that time to do much of anything at all, you see my father-in-law died August 14 in Florida and my mother-in-law died three and half weeks later on September 8th. So as you can see it has been a stressful and busy month with little time left over for much of anything else.

I did get a little gaming in and spent some time doing repairs to my 6mm ACW figures. Nothing big only the usual wear and tear on the figures. One stand had to be replaced as someone had stepped on it, since I have a hundred extra figures painted it was easy to make-up a new stand. Most of the work was replacing broken flag staffs on the Corps and Division General's stands.

I will be working again on the new start page and updating the files on the web site now that I have some time to. Several pages cover campaigns that are inactive and others need tweaking and changes. I will also add some more links.

  • July 15, 2003 - I have been updating the web page with game reports and other pages. I am trying to get as much in so I don't forget the games or get so far behind getting the reports written and in. A report from Joe Shaffer got me restarted again. I have also gotten more Austrian 6mm nappy's done. I have about 650 figures done and will start on the French figures next. I am working on an update to the Home page for MEGA with new logo, background and format. I had run into a format problem that I recently was able to resolve. I hope to have it done by the end of summer. It's my first try at building a page from scratch so it is slow going.

  • April 23, 2003 - Added more links pages for WWWII, hobby shops and various manufacturers. No Gaming the last couple weeks because of vacations and Easter.

  • March 21, 2003 - Getting several updates in this week with adding Warren Peterson's After Action Report to The Pieper Campaign, Barracks Battles 2003 convention report and a new page on my painting a Napoleonic army.m I also have a new variant to Blue Sky Air Combat to add called Blue-17. It combines Blue Sky Air Combat for miniatures and B-17 Queen of the Skies by Avalon Hill. The games are great fun and we had a great time at the Con.

  • March 4, 2003 - It has been awhile since I have updated the website with new pictures(coming in the weeks ahead) and game reports. I have been busy with work and church to get around to getting the updates uploaded to the server. I have added the 2003 updates for Game Logs and added the game reports for the games we have played so far in 2003. I will be adding a new page to the web site on a new project I am beginning on painting a Napoleonic army in 6mm. It will document, as I go, the steps to create the armies. Next is a Barents Sea Campaign Game that hopefully will start the end of March. I am still looking for players to fill out the various commands.

  • November 28, 2002 - I updated the Conventions Report with the games presented by MEGA at Command Con IV and a after action report by Mark Johnson of the Napoleonic game he presented over two day of the convention. I added pictures from the Con. I have also added a page were I am listing the miniatures that I am selling. I am selling off the WWII 20mm and 25mm mini's. I only had 30 or so 25mm figs. I have a buyer for my German 20mm, I will be selling my American 20mm and Japanese 20mm on eBay.

  • October 28, 2002 - Added two more games from early October, a link to Game Caravan which has listed Mega and Big Muddy on its website and the Up coming Command Con IV. I also added Submarine: "The Unofficial Home page for Avalon Hill's Board game" which I used for some of the ideas for the Submarine Game. More after the con

  • July 28, 2002. Added games for July 20 and 27 to the Game Log.

  • July 17, 2002. I added the Game Log for second half of 2002. Updated the first two games in July 2002. We played WWII air combat using Red Sun Blue Sky Rules. We started last year in the winter ordering 1/300 aircraft from Spirit Games in the UK. We ordered a broad selection of aircraft, US, Japanese, British, German and Russian. Most of the planes are early to mid war aircraft.

  • June 12, 2002 On May 2 my hard drive crashed and I'd been unable to restore it until last week. I lost the operating system (Win98) and eventually had to do a complete reformat of my hard drive. Repeated attempts at reinstall would not work. I was able to access the files through DOS and was able to retrieve my data files onto ZIP disks. But I was unable to copy many of the programs because of the hooks they use in the Windows directory. I am back up and after having down loaded the most recent versions of 1st Page (my HTML editor) and Magellan (FTP transfer)I am able to the update the WEB page.

I will be adding game descriptions first then I will add pictures later as I get time. For now I needed to get the Game Log updated and current. Some of the Log entries will be brief because of the time since the game.

Thank-you all for looking in and waiting patiently for the updates. I'd like comments on what you like and don't like about this web site. So please add your comments on the opening page.

  • Apr. 14, 2002
Can't believe that I got another day in of updates on the web page. I've updated the Game log with pictures and the long lost game after action report for the Mar. 16th's game. I added pictures to the Feb. 9, 16, 23 and Mar 16 reports and pictures for the game on Feb. 23 at Medieval Starship. So as of today I am current for all the game pictures and reports. I cleaned up some grammar in the reports and made a few additions to the reports. My memory must be improving. The KGP Campaign will continue this Saturday. And Finally I added a rules review for KampfGruppe Commander, by Warren Peterson.
  • Apr. 13, 2002

  • Jan. 28, 2002
I found a coding error for the Jan. - Jun. 2002 Game Log that prevented access to it. Fixed it and another small linkage. Added last weekend's game. I thought I had given the Confederates and hard task delaying eight US brigades but is turned out easier than I thought. Would've still like to have played the end out and see if the Union could've forced a crossing of the river. Would've gotten real bloody.
I will try to catch up adding pictures to the Game log entries.

  • Jan. 13, 2002
I see from the last update I have not been very good at updating this page regularly. The holidays and game projects have been keeping me busy. I have been painting 6mm ACW figures. I am trying to finish up the Order Of Battle for Shiloh in 6mm based for Johnny Reb 2.5. I stopped last summer from burnout and recently completed all the painting except 50 some command stands. I am waiting delivery from Baccus of those stands. With those all the first days participants at Shiloh will be done. I have enough Adlers to complete the Army of the Ohio if I feel up to it. I have also been paint 6mm WWII Western Front figures. I have completed 90% of the OOB for a mini campaign of KampfGruppe Peiper. These are a series of scenarios taken from the book WWII Battlezone by Mark Bevis. The campaign will be played one to one in micro armor. I am using Hallmark Main Force for the infantry figures and Heroic and Ros, Nav War and a bit of GHQ for the vehicles. The campaign covers Peipers advance from Dec. 18 to Dec. 22. The rules we will be using are Mein Panzer. I have modified it a bit to reduce the lethality of the combat and allow assault rifles teams for the Germans. The campaign is scheduled to end of March. It will be preceded by two practice games. One of which I will run at Big Muddy's Spring Con Barracks Battles.

Lastly I would appreciate any comments on the content of this Web Site from the visitors. What do you like, dislike and would like to see added.

I updated the Game Log for the missing games from September. I am waiting to a AAR for the game at Pat McGarrity's on the 15th. I will add pictures from the Civil War games in the up coming week. Have some nice close-ups of the games and figures. Getting better at doing the 6 MM posing for the camera. I have finished painting the cavalry for the ACW division I have completed so far. Did eighteen regiments/battalions, splitting several regiments into battalions because of the size. These should add a new dimension to our games. Next project is WWII 1/300 micro miniatures for a mini campaign game based on Kampfgruppe Pieper's attack during the Battle of the Bulge. It is series of four games following his movement from December 17 to 22 1944. More information as I get into the project.

  • September 3, 2001 - It's the end of summer and things are settling down a bit. I have been adding new game updates each week over the last few weeks. Some of the guys are doing the after action reports which gives me time to edit the pictures and the reports when they come in. This gives a different feel for the battle reports and we all have different styles.
We are playing Johnny Reb again after a layoff of over a year. It really is an enjoyable game for being so complex. The feel for Civil War tactics is one of the nice parts of the game. We use Johnny Reb 2.5 which is Johnny Reb II with some parts of JRIII, charges, basing etc. Look at JR2.5 rules to see the changes. There are other modifications we have used that are listed under the Rules button. I am going to write up some info on the OOB and figures I am using for my American Civil War armies.

  • August 19, 2001 - I have updated the Game Log with comments and pictures for the 18th's game. The after action report will be forth coming from Joe. We had a good game, a little rusty but fun never-the-less.

  • July 13, 2001 - The web page got away from me last month and I was remiss in getting the updates in and posting the Game Log entries. I have been painting 6mm American Civil War figures. Almost done with the first part of the project. I will post information, pictures and status later on a separate page. I have updated the Game Logs for June 30 and added the second half 2001 and updated the July 8th game. I am still waiting for an after action report for the French Foreign Legion game of June 23 from one of the players. I will post it as soon as I get it. I have pictures of each game and I will add those as I get time. I changed the Index Page to the web site by adding a "What's New" area. It will show only the last five additions or updates.

  • June 10, 2001 - The last few weeks have gotten away from me a bit. I had a week long business trip in late May to make and then the convention got a big part of my attention. At the request of the author I deleted the rules for G.I. WWII Skirmish Rules. I had not updated the rules set in several months and Joe asked I take them down as he felt that they were developed enough to be somewhat commercially viable. I should note that the current rules we use are different in many aspects from what I have taken off the web page.

  • Jan. 16, 2001 - I updated the Jan 6 Game Log. It's a little long but we had an exciting game coming down to almost the end before it was decided and that on a role of one die. I have some pictures of the battle that I will attempt to upload later this week. I have corrected the location of last week's picture location It's still blurry the next ones will be clearer as I am getting the hang of close up photography.
Had a bit a of a scare the last couple days with my PC down because of I was trying to get the PC to work down loading pictures from the scanner and digital camera. I attempted to update the BIIOS to correct a problem with the USB chip and had all sorts of bad problems as a result. Instead of using the on board USB ports which is the main problem I was trying to fix, I will be buying a good USB PCI Board very soon.

  • Jan. 8, 2001 - Updated the Saturday game Log, Added a picture from the game. It is my first try to up load a picture and link it to the page. Though the quality leaves something to be desired that is not due to the camera but to the operator. I will have more as time goes on, at least two per game. Added a link in the after action report for the Command Con game I put on. It is a link to Cory Paris' Homepage he took 60+ pictures at the con. They all look very good.
