class=\"spgn__article__content__main spgn__content\">\n\t\t<p>On Oct. 19, 2025, Emily Beth \u201cEmiru\u201d Schunk, a top Twitch content creator, said that this TwitchCon is going to be her last following an incident during her meet-and-greet where she was assaulted by one of her fans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event was caught on video, drawing condemnation from fans because no presence of TwitchCon security can be seen in the video. Emiru published a statement on the same day, saying that she is fine but highlighted the absence of TwitchCon\u2019s security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">hello everyone, I am okay and thank you for all of the kind messages, sorry I cannot respond to them all \ud83e\ude77<br><br>Yesterday, the man who assaulted me was allowed to cross multiple barriers at twitchcon and even in front of another creators meet and greet to grab me and my face and try\u2026<\/p>&mdash; emi \u2b50\ufe0f (@emiru) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/emiru\/status\/1979602519967060414?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">October 18, 2025<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>She said that the person who assaulted her \u201cwas allowed to cross multiple barriers at twitchcon and even in front of another creators meet and greet to grab me and my face and try to kiss me.\u201d She added that the person who reacted in the video was her own security, but her usual security guard was \u201cbanned for holding a stalkers arm to bring him to police, at a past Twitchcon.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She pointed out that there were \u201cat least 3 or 4 other Twitchcon security staff in the area who did not react and let the guy walk away, as you can see in the clip since they don\u2019t even appear in the frame.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Saw so many women saying they weren\u2019t going to be attending TwitchCon this year because they don\u2019t feel safe, and then this happens to Emiru on day one <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Yazc5VBPWF\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/Yazc5VBPWF<\/a><\/p>&mdash; shenAndygans (@Sh3nAndygans) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Sh3nAndygans\/status\/1979416324842369034?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">October 18, 2025<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Twitch issued a statement regarding what happened, saying, \u201cThe safety and security of all those attending TwitchCon is our highest priority.\u201d It added that they \u201cimmediately blocked this individual from returning to the TwitchCon premises, and they are banned indefinitely from Twitch, both online and in-person events.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Emiru quickly refuted this statement, saying that it was a blatant lie. \u201cHe was allowed to walk away from my meet and greet and I didn\u2019t hear he was caught until hours after he attacked me, and it felt like this only happened because of my manager pressing for it, not because Twitchcon staff present thought it was a big deal.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She signed off her statement by thanking her fans and apologizing for what had happened. She added that this is going to be her last TwitchCon and addressed creators by saying that they \u201cshould seriously consider not attending in the future.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI did not feel cared for or protected, even bringing my own security and staff.
